Enter the showtime, say which lot, and see when to leave.
Show night at Rocket Arena, Cleveland, Ohio. Not sure which time on the ticket matters? The concert night plan covers doors, opener and headliner at any venue.
The time on the ticket is when the first act is due on. Seating here is reserved, so nobody is racing for a spot; the deadline really is the show. Aim to be in your seat ten minutes before the first act, and budget the walk to your row: it is the part people misjudge, not the drive.
Some tours here sell a general admission floor or pit and others put numbered seats on the floor, so check which one your ticket says. A general admission floor runs on the tour’s own clock. The plan here is for a numbered seat.
Here is the evening drawn to scale. A maps app can number the drive. The rest is the walk in from the lot, the bag check, and the walk to your row.
Front door to your seat: 1hr 27min
The arena sits a quarter mile from I-90, I-77 and Route 2, and the downtown exits all lead you onto East 9th Street or Ontario Street for the last few blocks. The Rapid gets you around that traffic: the Red, Blue and Green Lines all run to Tower City, where RTA’s Walkway, an enclosed bridge, goes from the food court into the arena lobby. The Walkway opens three hours before a concert.
RTA lets you park free at its rail stations, and the HealthLine and many bus routes stop at Public Square, above the station. Red and Blue Line trains run until after midnight, and the last eastbound Green Line train leaves Tower City at midnight. RTA sometimes swaps stretches of all three lines for buses for several days of track work, so check its rider alerts before you go.
Rocket Arena was previously called Gund Arena, Quicken Loans Arena and later Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, so older directions, tickets and map pins may still use that name.
Rocket Arena has two garages of its own, the Great Day Improvements Garage, formerly the Gateway East Garage, and the JACK Cleveland Casino Garage, with room for 3,300 cars between them. The Great Day Improvements Garage has a bridge from Level 3 straight into the arena for people holding tickets. It takes cards only, reads your license plate on the way in and bills you on the way out, and the price changes from show to show. Event parking is limited, so the arena suggests buying a pass on SeatGeek before you leave, and most concert pages on the arena’s site link to the pass for that night.
With a pass, the garage usually takes cars from three hours before the show. On a night the Guardians also play at home, it takes only passes bought in advance. More garages and lots sit five to ten minutes’ walk away, and LAZ Parking and ParkWhiz both sell spots ahead of time. Rideshare drop-off and pick-up have five marked spots: Huron at East 8th Street, Ontario Street, Prospect at East 4th Street, and West Huron and West Prospect at Tower City.
The Great Day Improvements Garage is the one with the bridge into the building. The JACK Cleveland Casino Garage has passenger elevators down to the street, and everything else the arena lists is a five- to ten-minute walk.
Everyone goes through metal detectors, so keep your keys and phone in your pockets. Any bag bigger than 6 by 9 by 1 inches, diaper and medical bags included, goes through a separate X-ray lane. Purses and diaper bags up to 14 by 14 by 6 inches are allowed if they fit under a seat, clear ones included, and backpacks of any size are not. Anyone 17 or under needs a parent or legal guardian with them to get in, and the arena does not refund a ticket when an unaccompanied minor is turned away.
Some rules are set show by show, such as signs and tablets, and those come in the Know Before You Go email the arena sends ticket holders 24 to 48 hours before the event. No outside food or drink apart from medical needs, baby food and small snacks for children. The arena is cashless, so bring a card or a phone wallet. There is no re-entry, including to smoke or to fetch something from the car, medical emergencies aside.
Doors, lots and bag rules change; the official site is the live source.
The plan's floor is the gate 28 minutes before the show: screening, the walk to your section, and a few minutes in the seat. Your seat is reserved, so nothing is lost by not being there the moment the gates open. The walk from the lot depends on which lot you got. Carrying a bag adds about ten minutes to that.
