😴

It's 1 AM. You meant to go to bed at 11.

You're not choosing to stay up late. You're stuck. The scroll, the one more episode, the project you suddenly need to organize. It's not that you don't want to sleep. It's that nothing in your brain is saying "now." Backward planning creates that signal.

Revenge bedtime procrastination

After a day of doing what you're supposed to do, nighttime feels like the only time that's yours. So you guard it, even at the cost of tomorrow. The problem is that "I'll go to bed soon" doesn't have a start time. Without one, "soon" becomes "eventually" becomes 1:30 AM and your alarm is in five hours.

Make the wind-down a sequence, not a decision

Ready Time sends a notification when it's time to start your wind-down, not when it's time to be in bed. Close the laptop at 10:00. Brush teeth at 10:15. Read for 15 minutes. Lights out at 10:45. When the first notification fires, you don't have to decide anything. You just follow the next step.
