Travel time to Levi's Stadium

The time on the ticket is when the first act is due on. Seating here is reserved, so nobody is racing for a spot; the deadline really is the show. Aim to be in your seat ten minutes before the first act, and budget the walk to your row: it is the part people misjudge, not the drive.

Most stadium tours also sell a general-admission floor or pit, and that ticket is a different evening: the queue for a place at the rail forms outside long before the lots open. The plan here is for a numbered seat.

The lots, and the walk in

The stadium sits in a business park and most of the parking is across Tasman Drive, so the walk in crosses the light rail tracks with everyone else. The lots open three and a half hours before the event and close two hours after it, and every car needs a parking pass as well as a ticket, so buy it before you set off.

The stadium-side lots are the short walk and mostly go to passes bought early. Across Tasman is where most people end up, and it adds the crossing at both ends of the night. Both empty onto Great America Parkway and Tasman afterwards, which is the slowest part of the evening by a distance.

A tailgate moves the whole evening earlier

Tailgating is allowed in the lots and plenty of people make an afternoon of it. Add one and the plan puts in setting up, eating and packing the car before the walk in, which means leaving the house that much earlier.

Your seat is reserved, so nothing is lost by not being there the moment the gates open. The lots open three and a half hours out, and Great America Parkway is the reason to use some of that rather than arrive on the floor time. The walk from the lot depends on which lot you got.
