BNA has been one of the fastest-growing airports in the country, and its checkpoint peaks (weekend mornings especially) still outrun the recent expansion. Concourse A is closed for reconstruction until 2028, which pushes its traffic into the others and makes the terminal feel fuller than the gate count suggests.
The expanded terminal has spread the lines out, but bachelorette-weekend Sundays and Monday mornings remain the crush windows. One consolidated checkpoint serves every concourse, so there is no second line to try. The only lever is when you arrive. The satellite gates are then reached by a shuttle bus, which adds a ride to the back of the plan.
The plan allows 25 minutes for a standard lane on a busy but normal morning. With TSA PreCheck, that drops to 15 minutes. A checked bag lengthens the one before it.
It's a short drive from downtown off I-40 with no rail option, so the estimate is traffic plus parking; the garages sit close to the terminal. WeGo Route 18 runs from downtown, and rideshare pickup is on level 1 of the second garage rather than at the curb.
