The Coliseum sits just off the 110 and the 10, and the last few blocks run right turn only on game day with the left turn pockets closed. The train is the better answer from downtown: Expo Park/USC on the E Line, the one people still call the Expo Line, leaves you a few minutes' walk from the gates, and Metro doubles the service either side of kickoff. Rideshare cannot pick up inside Exposition Park until about an hour after the final whistle, which is the thing that catches visitors out every week.
The Exposition Park lots open six hours before kickoff and nothing takes cash: campus structures go through the parking app, the park lots through a booking site, both before you arrive. Tailgating stops at kickoff here rather than running through the game. Anything else on in the park, a match at the stadium next door or a busy museum day, is eating the same spaces, so it is worth knowing what else is happening before you count on parking at all.
Clear-bag policy at most college stadiums, and a few ban bags outright, clear ones included. Getting it wrong usually means walking back to the car and re-entering the line.

Work backward from kickoff: minutes in your seat beforehand, walk to your section, gate screening, walk from the lot, parking, then the drive (20 minutes in the default plan). That puts leave-by at 3:08 PM for a 4:30 PM kickoff. Change the kickoff time and every row moves.
It depends on the TV window, which is usually announced six to twelve days before the game.
