Doors open about 90 minutes before puck drop here.
The first travel row is your leave-by time. Put in your puck drop time, tap any duration, and the plan recomputes backward.
NHL game night at American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Stars. For a concert here, start from the concert night plan instead: a support act sets the deadline rather than the anthem.
The 25-minute drive is a typical run from Dallas without game-day traffic (the optimistic number). In the app, set American Airlines Center as the destination and Apple Maps fills in the time from where you’re leaving.
Then add for game day: thousands aiming at the same exit and lots (real drive to American Airlines Center). Change the row and every step before it moves.
The time on your ticket is when the puck drops. The teams warm up well before that and the anthem and the opening ceremony run right up to it. Aim for ten to fifteen minutes earlier if you want to be in your seat for any of it.
Screening at the doors usually decides it. Every NHL arena runs walk-through detectors, and the queue is the gap between arriving and being inside. People who miss the start rarely misjudge the drive; they misjudge the lot walk and the line.
Start times here are the team's own. The NHL sells no national window, so a game goes on when the building and the market suit and there is nothing to convert from Eastern. These are the slots this team plays most often.
These are American Airlines Center’s own times. The team publishes start times with the schedule in the summer and the same opponent can be a one o’clock one week and a seven o’clock the next, so take the time on your ticket over the one you remember.
Holiday games, a nationally televised night and the playoffs run their own times, and a handful each season start half an hour or an hour either side of the usual slot. Type those in on the puck drop row.
DART light rail stops at Victory station, next to the arena’s West entrance on Victory Avenue. The Green and Orange lines serve it every day. From the Red or Blue line you change at West End, though some Red and Blue trains run straight to Victory before arena events and one of each leaves Victory shortly after the final buzzer. The Trinity Railway Express also stops at Victory, so you can ride in from Fort Worth’s T&P Station without changing trains, but the TRE does not run on Sundays.
After a game that starts after 6:00, a westbound TRE leaves Victory twenty minutes after the final horn. DART stretched the gap between rush-hour trains on all four light rail lines in February 2026, so on a weeknight look up the time of the train you want before you leave. A weeknight game also puts the drive in on top of the downtown evening commute.
American Airlines Center runs its own garages and lots, and most of them are within two blocks of the doors: the Lexus, Comerica, Commons and D garages plus surface lots around Victory Park. You can buy a pass ahead through JustPark from the arena’s parking page, and the gates take cards only because the whole building is cashless.
The Lexus Garage off North Houston Street opens at noon on game days, while the other garages and lots open two hours before the game, so an early arrival means the Lexus Garage. There is no in-and-out once you park. Rideshare drop-off and pick-up has two zones, on All-Star Way and Nowitzki Way, and Lot F across from the North entrance is ADA parking only.

That is the earliest you can get in. Check the official American Airlines Center FAQ for your game.
Bag rules are the arena's own here and most allow a small bag rather than requiring a clear one. Getting it wrong usually means walking back to the car and re-entering the line. Check the arena's page for current sizes rather than a size you remember.
Doors open ninety minutes before the puck drops, which the arena states for Mavericks games too. Everyone walks through a metal detector, and security also uses hand wands, so empty your pockets before you reach the line. A wallet, wristlet or clutch up to 4.5 by 6.5 inches gets in at any door.
A purse up to 14 by 14 by 6 inches is allowed only at the four main entrances, where it goes through an X-ray. Backpacks and large totes are not allowed at any size, and the arena has nowhere to check one, so leave it in the car. No outside food or drink. There is no re-entry unless a Guest Services supervisor at the door approves it for a medical reason.

Doors open about 90 minutes before puck drop here; that is when the crowd starts arriving, not when you have to. Being through the doors about half an hour before puck drop covers screening, the walk to your section, and a stop on the concourse.
Work backward from puck drop: minutes in your seat beforehand, walk to your section, security screening, walk from the lot, parking, then the drive (25 minutes in the default plan). That puts leave-by at 5:47 PM for a 7:00 PM puck drop. Change the puck drop time and every row moves.
It is whatever the team has scheduled, and these are local times rather than a converted national window. On this arena's clock: an early-evening game at 5:00 PM, a night game at 7:00 PM. This example uses the night game window. Holiday games, nationally televised nights and playoff rounds run their own times; the puck drop row is editable for those.
The plan allows 12 minutes for a normal walk-through queue. It runs longer in the twenty minutes before puck drop. Arriving fifteen minutes off that peak is usually enough.

Not in the lots here. If you are meeting people somewhere else, add that as a step and everything before it moves earlier.
Assume a small bag at most. Check the arena's own page for current sizes. The timing risk is being turned around at the door and walking back to the car: the walk twice and a second trip through the queue.
Flying in? The airport pages. Taking Amtrak? The station pages. No stadium listed? The tailgate timeline is the same plan without a particular lot.
Ready Time keeps the plan and subtracts again when the puck drop changes. Put in next week's game and the same steps land on new times, with an alert on each one.
Get a nudge at the right moment, while there's still time to act.
Each step gets its own alert, so you know what's next and how long you have.
Start the plan in the app, and the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show the time left, with a bar that fills as each step passes.
Glance at it on the walk in without opening the app.
